Weekend Preview for April 9th and 10th

Firstly congratulations to the CHS North Coast Bowls side, who reached the final of the state CHS championships this week held at Park Beach Bowling Club. Eighty future stars of the game competed in the event with the locals making the decider only to go down narrowly. The great performace resulted in three local stars making the state CHS squad, namely Josh Forbes, Kenita Monk and Corey Wedlock. All three possess great talent and will no doubt continue to shine in future events.

Round Seven of the pennants continue on Saturday with a number of key matches being played. In the combined First and Second Grad, Park Beach Two's clash with Sawtell in a match that could determine the winner of the second grade flag. Sawtell have a four point lead going into today's round and could sew up the flag with a win today. Park Beach have kept themselves in the hunt all season, and will be banking on the home advantage to help them reverse the result of the two sides first clash in round two.

All six sides are still in the hunt in Grade Four, however the crunch match of the weekend will be between equal leaders Nambucca Heads and Sawtell, Nambucca having the distinct advantage of playing at home.
In section one of Grade Five, Bowraville have a chance to snatch the section from Macksville when they play their postponed match against Urunga. Any win will give them the section and the opportunity to play section two winners Bellingen for the district flag.

Sunday will see Park Beach host the annual Under 45's clash between  Mid North Coast and Lower North Coast. Strong performances in this event have in the past resulted in many young guns gaining their selection in the open representative team for the Kelly Shield played in June.
The last two years has seen MNC crush their rivals, however LNC will be looking to reverse that this year, and with state representative Shane Globits leading their team they will be confident of reversing the previous years results.

Good luck to all involved on both days...

Chippy
