Weekend Results 16th & 17th April

Due to the wet weather it has been a very quiet weekend. Pennants was washed out on Saturday, and only the Open district pairs saw any action on Sunday with the quarter finals being played at Woolgoolga before mother nature brought a halt to proceedings.

The four matches that were played all resulted in highly competitive matches, with the biggest winning margin being two shots.
David Miles & Ben Proctor were the first team through to the semi finals, holding off a late charge from locals Barry Carter and Ian Brien to register a one shot victory 18-17.
They will meet Dale Scrivener and Hagop Aladjadjian in the first semi final after the Scotts Head duo also held off a strong comeback from Stuarts Point Young Guns Jake Jeffery and Andy King, recording a 15-13 win.
Dave Valentine and Shane Dodd kept the local hopes alive winning a tense battle battle with Bellingen's Josh Shearim and Mark Delamere 21-20.
The nominated match of the round between the two remaining Park Beach entrants lived up to expectations, with John Bain and Ric Southam prevailing over Mark Menzies and Cory Daley 19-17 in a match of the highest quality, to set up a clash with Valentine and Dodd.
Pennant and District will take a back seat next weekend for Easter, however there are a couple of Easter tournaments being run in the local area. Urunga is hosting a one day triples event on Easter Saturday, and at the time of posting still require a few more teams. Call the club for further details.

Til Next Time,

Happy Easter!

Chippy
