The final of the club triples at Park Beach came down to the final bowl of the 25th end. And it was a cracker to boot!
After being the better team for the majority of the match, Kali Roraduri, Ron Sprudd and Rummy Cutmore found themselves two up on the scoreboard, but after some great bowls from the opposition, being Peter Wirth, Graeme Colman and Aden Pike, were three down at the head, with just one bowl to play. Rummy stepped on the mat and with no fear at all drove at the three shot target and promptly removed two of the three bowls to claim a one shot success.
Kali played a match that contradicts his short time in the sport consistently setting up the head for his team mates, and was ably supported by his team mates. However the best player on the green was on the losing side, with Aden Pike playing countless last bowl saves to keep his team in the match.
For all three bowlers on the winning team this is their first club triples at Park Beach. Cutmore has won titles at other clubs but having been at Park Beach for only six months it is his last at his new home. Sprudd has been bowling for many years and can now lay claim to a major. For Roraduri this adds to yet another feather to his cap in what has been an exceptional rookie season. Kali also boasts a district pennant flag and the clubs Tyro singles title for the 2012 year.
More club results from around the district as they come to hand...
Cheers,
Chippy
