District Singles wash out

Mother Nature played havoc with today's quarter and semi finals across the three district singles events being held on the Mid North Coast.
Not a bowl was played in the semi finals of the Senior Singles at Sawtell due to the heavy rain. It is believed these matches will now be played on this coming Wednesday with the final still to be played next Saturday.
At Woolgoolga the semi finals were commenced before rain took over. Park Beach's Mario Muscat had the better of the early going against Nambucca's Chris Evans, leading 10-7 at close of play. It is believed that the other semi final was not commenced due to a controversial forfeiture... more on this as it develops.
In the Open Singles at Park Beach around ninety minutes was played before matches were abandoned. This time was all it took however for Coffs Ex Services member Rod Hiscock to book a semi final berth, defeating Heinz Burchgart 31-10. At this stage he is the only bowler through to the final four. At the close of play Brett Sinnott was handling the wet conditions better than Dan Gilmore, holding a 20-12 lead. P.T Clarke got out of the blocks very quickly against Steve Plumb, however Plumb was starting to claw back some ground, Clarke taking a 18-9 advantage into the break. Finally Cory Daley was also having the best of the conditions against Martin Wilson, finishing with a 20-8 scoreline.
The completion date scheduled for these matches and ensuing rounds haven't been confirmed as of yet however it is expected to be this coming Saturday as this was the date originally scheduled for the final.
