District Championships - Fours and Junior Singles..

The evergreen Laurie Morris and his Park Beach team will take on Brett McDonnell's Urunga side for the first district championship of the year, after both won tough semi finals at Coffs Ex Services on Sunday in the Mid North Coast Fours.
Fresh from dishing out a hiding in the pennant on Saturday, Morris and his team of Neil Williams, John Bennett and Phil Toy, dominated Stuart Hartigan's West Coffs side in the quarter final before coming from 13-8 down to win a nail biter against the well credentialed Nambucca Heads side skippered by Geoff Beattie.
Brett McDonnell and his side of Brett Sinnott, Chris Forbes, and son Chris McDonnell held on in a high scoring affair against Sawtell's Grahame Greene in the quarter before finishing strongly to put out Dennis Brown's Park Beach side in their semi final.
Big congrats to Neil from the Park Beach team, and to Brett and the two Chris's from Urunga, on reaching their first Mid North Coast Final. Judging by some of the bowls played on Sunday, it won't be the last time any of these players find themselves in a district decider.

Next Sunday will be a big day for the Forbes family, with younger brother Josh set to play the Junior Singles final against state junior rep Kenita Monks after they both shone through in the qualifying matches. Although the participation rate may have been down (8 entrants), the quality of those who did play was as high as ever, with some great matches witnessed. For the winner, it will be the second title of the year, with the duo combining with Josh Hicks and Corey Wedlock in the District fours.

Both finals will be played this Sunday morning, with the open Fours hosted by Coffs Ex Services, and Park Beach hosting the Junior Singles.
