Sawtell sent a warning to all rivals on the weekend with two solid displays in rounds two and three of the combined First and Second Grade Pennant. Sawtell backed up their impressive first round victory with a six nil whitewash of Coffs Ex, and a hard fought 4-2 victory over the team most likely to challenge them for the second grade flag, being Park Beach Two's.
Coffs Ex Services responded to their drubbing on the Saturday by causing the upset of the weekend when they defeated West Coffs 5-1. It was a tough weekend for the newly elevated to first grade side, only just falling over the line in their other clash against Urunga, taking the points 4-2. Despite not yet having registered a win, Urunga have proven to be competitive, also taking a rink from Park Beach firsts.
Park Beach firsts have continued to roll along without being super impressive, but getting the job done, however they almost fell victim to their second side, getting out of gaol 4-2 in their other weekend fixture.
Their upcoming clash this weekend with Sawtell is clearly the match of the round, with the victor taking a clear cut lead in the overall standings. Parky seconds and West Coffs will be both desperate for a victory in their clash, whilst Urunga will be looking for their first win of the year against Coffs Ex Services.
