Sunday saw the next rounds of the MNC Senior and Presidents Singles being played at Sawtell and Woolgoolga respectively.
Firstly the Senior Singles...
Phil Toy responded after his tough opening round encounter to assert his dominance in round two, dishing out a lesson to Sawtell's G Proctor. Other favoured bowlers Grahame Purvis, Laurie Morris and Ray Cridge have also advanced to the round of sixteen.
At Woolgoolga Paul Smith won a tough tussle with Nev Womersley to advance in the Presidents singles second round. Juniors Aaron Gittoes and Mitch Clarke also won close matches to reach the final sixteen. Former winner Mark Benham was bundled out by J Thorn in a surprise result.
Both of these events and the Open Singles will be on hold this weekend due to the Zone Pennant championships.
