Park Beach 7.2's are celebrating a District flag after getting the best of their more fancied club mates being the 7.1's in today's sectional play off for the Grade Seven Flag played at their home club.
The match was one that swung both ways with the 7.2's getting an early break before the 7.1's put together a run of ends to take control of the big board moving into the final third of the game. Just as quickly the match changed direction again and with the ends running out the 7.2's were able to celebrate a 59-46 victory.
For a number of players in the team, this was a maiden district flag, with three in particular taking out a badge in their first season of Pennant. Congratulations Ray Pensch, Kali Roraduri and Greg Inwood, I'm sure this flag won't be the last you take home!
The side, like the winners of the other six grades will now prepare for the zone finals scheduled to be played in two weeks at two different venues. North Haven will host the First four Grades whilst Woolgoolga will host the five to seven grades.
Attention will now turn to the three district singles champions which will commence next Saturday.
