District Singles opening rounds..

The final thirty two has been decided in the Open Singles after a tough days play at Park Beach. Greg Cridge and Cory Daley both sent warnings to the rest of the field with big wins whilst Chris Adams also performed well in his opening clash. Former zone junior champion Cameron Wills struggled to close out his match but has managed to advance whilst in the match of the round Tony Greenshields finished the stronger against Barry Smith. The round of thirty two will be played on the 2nd of July at Park Beach.

In the Senior Singles at Sawtell, reigning champ Phil Toy had a battle on his hands against Vic Mankin before finishing strongly to advance. Other winners include Brian Saville and John Hurrell. The next round in this event is to be played tomorrow morning. Prediction for match of the round will be Ray Cridge up against Charlie Attard.

Woolgoolga is hosting the Presidents Singles were today round one was completed and two round two matches were scheduled owing to lack of green space for a full round tomorrow. At the conclusion of play the players to advance were West Coffs members Anthony Baker and Col Amos. They join Mario Muscat in the third round after Mario received a forfeit. Round Two will be completed tomorrow morning.

Good Luck to all involved....
