Round Four Results - Grades 1-4

Nambucca Heads and Park Beach Seconds were the big movers in round four of the combined first and second grade competition this weekend.
Nambucca has moved into second place on the ladder after a dominant 6 - 0 victory over Urunga whilst Parky seconds moved into third after dealing out a second straight loss to an unlucky Sawtell side 5.5 - 0.5. The match at Sawtell hung in the balance and appeared to be almost in the home sides favour, holding a score good enough for victory on the last end, before Parky skipper Rob Wardrop, trailed the jack for two shots, not only snaring the big board, but snatching a draw against Sawtell's P.T Clarke for an extra half point.
Park Beach Firsts didn't have it all their own way at home against West Coffs, but a strong win for Jim Swan against Martin Wilson, ensured the big board was safe. Young gun Corey Wedlock added to his growing reputation earning his side a point with a win over Mark Menzies rink.
Firsts have now increased their lead over second place to ten points over Nambucca with the Parky seconds half a point further back...

In Grade Three, Coffs Ex Services achieved their goal of taking the lead with a 5 - 1 victory over Scotts Head. Woolgoolga cemented third place and stay in the mix after also managing a 5 - 1 victory against Sawtell.

Park Beach held off a fast finishing Sawtell to record a 4.5 - 1.5 success and maintain a slight lead over the field in Grade Four, thanks to Nambucca Heads upsetting Bellingen 4 - 2. Urunga have now moved into second place on the back of a dominant 5 - 1 win over Coffs. All sides in the top three look the goods, with Nambucca also still in the mix. The warning signs would be flashing for Coffs and Sawtell now, with just one more loss for either side pretty much ending their hopes of a flag in this grade.

As two matches in the lower grades are scheduled for 18/03/12, results for grades 5/6/7 will be posted later.

Cheers,

Chippy
